12 double rooms in a renovated cowshed. In designing the rooms, focus was put on the characteristics and colours of the cowshed where concrete floors and rugged natural materials shine alongside some soft wood. The rooms are bright and spacious with a private bathroom. Each room has a new quality bed, a table and chairs. Cribs are available free and upon request. 

Board

Breakfast is included and dinner is available if booked in advance (with at least one day notice). Also restaurants at Fosshóll (3 km) and Dalakofinn (16 km).  Supermarkets can be found in  Akureyri and Húsavík (45 km).

Service and recreation

Fljótsbakki is located on the grassy bank of Skjálfandafljót River in a peaceful environment. During your stay you have the opprotunity to get to know life on an Icelandic farm, enjoy the company of farm animals or follow them from a distance. Fljótsbakki is also a great location for spotting the Northern Lights because of the vastness of the area and lack of lights pollution. 

Unique nature

Goðafoss Waterfall is a gorgeous and historic waterfall in the Skjálfandafljót Waterfall, only 3 km from Fljótsbakki. A legend connects the waterfall to the introduction of Christianity in Iceland in year 1000. Goðafoss is one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland and is visited by many who enjoy its beauty and the unique nature in the area. 

One of a kind experience

In Fljótsbakki you can experience absolute stillness because the farm is quite isolated from the nearby traffic.
