Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival Day - Welcome to Iceland

When you land in Keflavík airport, you can take a coach transfer (optional) to travel to Reykjavík. Welcome to the world’s northernmost capital, a city bustling with life and activities that gets extra magical when comes the winter time. The streets are lit up by Christmas lights, you can listen to live music at every corner and the atmosphere is filled with warmth and joy. The city boasts good opportunities to discover Iceland’s culinary scene and get a first insight into the Nordic culture and lifestyle.

Day 2 | The Golden Circle

Today we do the not-to-be-missed Golden Circle tour, gathering three of Iceland’s most famous landmarks, including the spectacular wintry scenery of Gullfoss Waterfall, and the active Geysir hot spring area, that gave its name to the geyser phenomenon. There, you can expect Strokkur geyser to erupt every 5-10 minutes on average. You will also visit Thingvellir National Park, the only place in the world where the rift is above sea-level, and where the American and European tectonic plates drift apart at a rate of 2-6 cm per year! Travel across the vast farmlands of South Iceland to reach your accommodation in Selfoss. If the aurora forecast and cloud coverage are cooperating, you’re in for a northern light hunt tonight!

Day 3 | Volcanoes, Waterfalls, and Ice Caving

Explore the most astounding natural wonders of South Iceland, starting with the waterfalls Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss, of different set-up but equal beauty. Drive past a variety of glaciers and volcano, of which you might recognize a certain Eyjafjallajökull. Then on through the black volcanic sands created by volcanic activity and flooding fromMýrdalsjökull glacier, all the way to Vík where we stop close to the beach with a view of the basalt columns rising from the ocean. In Vík you will be picked up by a Super Truck that takes you all the way to the magnificent Katla Ice Cave where you get a once in a lifetime chance to experience the inside of an actual glacier. In the afternoon, re-energize in the warm waters of the hotel Riverside spa, that also features a steam room, a sauna, a relaxation room, lounge and bar. Day 4 | Blue Lagoon and Reykjavik City Tour

Today you head to the South Coast of the Reykjanes Peninsula, passing the remarkable and colourful Krýsuvík geothermal Area before reaching to Iceland’s crown jewel, the Blue Lagoon. You can either admire the landscape and turquoise waters from the outside or live the experience at the fullest and take a dip in the rich mineral waters of the Lagoon (admission to the lagoon must be booked), where you will get to try the silica mud mask, praised worldwide for its healing properties. Refreshed and relaxed, you head to Reykjavík for an exciting tour through the city’s main landmarks.
