Itinerary

Day 1 | The Golden Circle

Pick up your rental car in Keflavík and head to South Iceland to explore the spectacular 'Golden Circle' landmarks: Þingvellir National Park for its interesting history and geology, the beautiful two-tiered Gullfoss Waterfall and the spouting Strokkur hot spring at Geysir.

Day 2 | Vatnajökull National Park

Travel along the South Coast through Vík and Kirkjubæjarklaustur towards Vatnajökull National Park. Visit Skaftafell with its contrasting landscapes of glaciers, black sand plains and waterfalls. Admire the floating icebergs on Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Go on a glacier walk/hike and explore the crevasse-riddled outlet glacier Sólheimajökull with its amazing ice formations, sinkholes and jagged ridges.

Day 3 | Enjoy the Region

Enjoy the area around your accommodation at a more leisurely pace. Explore, discover and savour everything the region has to offer. Take in the rustic atmosphere of the Icelandic countryside. There are also numerous activities and adventures you can opt for.

Day 4 | The South Coast

Admire the vast ocean views, black sands and cliffs of the South Coast. Visit Skógar with its wonderful waterfall and interesting folk museum. View - or even walk behind - Seljalandsfoss Waterfall. Stop by the charming coastal villages of Eyrarbakki and Stokkseyri. Go on an exhilirating horse riding tour from Eldhestar or Sólhestar horse rentals near Hveragerði town. Drop off your rental car in Reykjavík. Enjoy the city's vibrant cultural scene and exciting nightlife.
