Breakfast is served from 8-10 o´clock. In the wintertime we have restaurant in Litli Geysir where the kitchen is open from 18-21. In summer guests are welcome for dinner in Hotel Geysir restaurant. There is an excellent restaurant at the hotel, where local courses and locally sourced ingredients are emphasised. The restaurant sits up to 600 people and is a grand venue for all kinds of banquets, meetings and gatherings, for both large and small groups. Another restaurant is next door to the hotel, at Geysir Center – Geysir Glima Restaurant – a bistro that serves traditional courses from local ingredients. You will also find a fast food restaurant at the centre that serves hamburgers, pizzas, soup and lighter meals.

Geysir geothermal area – hikes
The Geysir geothermal area is among the more famous geothermal areas in Iceland. It is home to a world famous geyser, aptly named Geysir (the Great Geysir), that, during its glory days, would produce eruptions of 60 – 80 metres (186-262 ft.). Geysir has hardly erupted the last few decades. However, its neighbour Strokkur produces large eruptions every 10 – 15 minutes. A small, unpaved road goes from the geothermal area to the Haukadalur forestry (2 km / 1.2 mi), where you will find many remarkable hiking routes. A small trail winds its way through the forest and up to the edge of the highlands and is an ideal hike for those who wish to enjoy the peace and quiet of the rugged highlands while looking over mountains and glaciers
Gullfoss – Europe’s most beautiful waterfall
Gullfoss (10 km / 6 mi) is Iceland’s most famous waterfall, and many consider it the most beautiful waterfall in Europe. The waterfall tumbles down two stone steps to a deep gorge and is a fascinating thing to look at in either summer or covered by the robes of winter. A popular mountain road passes by the Gullfoss Tourist Information Centre and links the South and North.
Skálholt, Þingvellir National park and Þjórsárdalur valley
Skálholt (29 km / 18 mi) was the episcopal seat and a place of higher learning from the early 11th century and up until the late 18th century. It is a place steeped in history. Þingvellir National Park (48 km / 30 mi) is among the most breathtaking places in the country. Iceland’s parliament assembled here for almost nine centuries and the Republic of Iceland was formally founded here on June 17th, 1944. Þjórsárdalur (80 km / 50 mi) is a unique natural paradise by the foothills of an active volcano – Mt Hekla. The promised land of outdoor enthusiasts who wish to experience all Iceland has to offer on foot. Attractions include a restored historical farm dating back to the settlement.
