Day 1 | Reykjavík and the Blue LagoonBlue lagoon

We start the day with a Reykjavík city tour, stopping by the historic  Höfði house, the Parliament building, Perlan (The Pearl), Hallgrímskirkja church and Harpa Concert and Conference Centre, where we will have lunch at restaurant Kolabrautin.
After lunch we head to the Blue Lagoon where we will relax in the warm geothermal water known for its healing properties.
 
Overnight and dinner at Hotel Eldhestar.
In the evening if weather and conditions allow we might have the chance to spot the magical Northern Lights in the quiet and remote location of the hotel. 
 
 

Day 2 | Geothermal greenhouse, Gullfoss, Geysir and Friðheimar farm tomato greenhouseÞingvellir National Park 

We start the day with a visit to farm Friðheimar where the hosts will show us how they cultivate tomatoes by using geothermal energy. We will taste delicious tomatoes and get a special tomato shot with “brennivín”, a traditional Icelandic schnapps. Before leaving Friðheimar we will have a peak into the horse stables and get to know the Icelandic horse. From there we continue to Gullfoss "the golden waterfall" and the famous Geysir area with the spouting hot spring of Strokkur (spouts every 5-10 min). 
We then head to farm Efsti-dalur for a light lunch in a cowshed café and restaurant in a renovated barn. After lunch we drive to Þingvellir National Park, the site of the ancient parliament and Iceland’s most renowned beauty spot. We will then drive to Country Hotel Hraunsnef where we will spend the next two nights. At Hraunsnef the host will take us for an elf walk in the vicinity of the hotel. We will hear stories about these hidden people that play a big part in Icelandic folklore.

In the evening if weather and conditions allow we might have the chance to spot the magical Northern Lights in the quiet and remote location of the hotel. 
We will also be able to enjoy the outdoor hot tubs. 
Wake up call at the hotel included, in case of Northern Lights.
 
 

Day 3 | Snæfellsnes Peninsula, shark tasting and Northern lightsStykkishólmur

We start the day by driving to Bjarnarhöfn farm, located on Snæfellsnes Peninsula. There we will visit a shark museum and taste fermented shark, an Icelandic speciality. We will then drive to the small fishing village of Stykkishólmur with its many colourful wooden houses.
Weather permitting we will walk up to a lighthouse which offers a beautiful view over Breiðafjörður bay, famous for its countless islands.

After lunch we will drive to the town of Borgarnes and  visit the Settlement Centre’s two exhibitions: Saga of the settlement of Iceland and Iceland´s most famous Viking and first poet Egill Skallagrímsson.
 
Overnight and dinner at Country Hotel Hraunsnef.
In the evening if weather and conditions allow we might have the chance to spot the magical Northern Lights in the quiet and remote location of the hotel. 
We will also be able to enjoy the outdoor hot tubs. 
Wake up call at the hotel included, in case of northern lights.
 
 

Day 4 | Deildartunguhver, Hraunfossar, Reykholt and Hraunfossarfarm visit

We start the day with a drive to Deildartunguhver, Europe´s most powerful hot spring. We then head on to Hraunfossar falls, which stream from the edges of a lava field. Next stop is Reykholt, a small village known for being the ancient residence of Snorri Sturluson, one of Iceland´s greatest scholars/poets (1179-1241).
Light lunch at Reykholt.
We then visit farm Bjarteyjarsandur. We will meet the family and their animals, get an insight into daily life on the farm and taste some of their local produce. We then drive through the beautiful fjord Hvalfjörður to Reykjavík where we will say goodbye to our guide and driver.
