In the evening you are served a scrumptious 3-course dinner with the family in a converted old barn at Heydalur. Afterwards, you can relax in the on-site natural hot spring pool. If the skies are clear you have the possibility of seeing the Northern Lights.

  • Guided hike to Drangajökull Glacier or snow-shoe hiking in Heydalur Valley.
  • Guided ice-fishing tour to a nearby mountain lake and surroundings including the salt factory in Reykjanes, old Viking-age ruins in Vatnsfjörður and a look at Heydalur's private troll, Þrándur, along the way. Alternatively, in autumn, a kayak trip in the fjord or a horse riding tour along the river.
  • Guided day tour to Ísafjörður town and surroundings including visits to the church, library, old town and viewing point over Ísafjörður, Hvítanes seal colony, the small folk museum Litli Bær in Skötufjörður, the Arctic Fox Centre in Súðavík and Ósvör Maritime Museum.
