6 kilometers West of Kirkjubæjarklaustur, Hunkubakkar is a working sheep farm offering accommodation in charming cottages, along with three bedrooms in the main farmhouse. Right at the guesthouse‘s doorstep are attractive tracks and scenic spots. In the main building is an excellent restaurant, where are served breakfast and dinner, of which we recommend the house‘s specialty: the tender grilled free range lamb you will ever eat. What do you say of a walk to the nearby waterfall and canyon after your meal? Hunkubakkar is a haven of peace on your way to Lakagígar Craters, Skaftafell National Park, Jökulsárlón and Fjallsárlón Glaciers Lagoons, and others!
