Day 1 | Reykjavík, Blue Lagoon
Depending on your arrival time you will be able to visit the Blue Lagoon or enjoy the city life of Reykjavík.

Day 2 | Fly to Akureyri, Northern lights tour
Fly from Reykjavík to Akureyri in only 40 minutes, where you will be staying for the next two nights. You will be picked up at the airport and have a briefing about your northern lights evening tour and a short sightseeing tour of Akureyri. Enjoy the day in Akureyri, a charming town with Danish influence. Your northern lights tour is operated at 22.00 (pick up at 21.45), duration 2.5-3 hours.

Skjaldarvík Guesthouse, located only a 10 minutes’ drive north of Akureyri in the calmness of the countryside, maximising your chances of seeing the stars and the northern lights.
Northern lights tour | Frozen night, mystery and magic (included)
To enter the dark, frozen winter night and observe an unbelievable display of colour, light and texture is like waking up in a fairy-tale full of mystery and magic. You will be picked up at your accommodation and drive out to the countryside or up to the mountains, away from electric glow and city sounds. Astronomers are predicting the 2011-2013 northern lights viewing season to be the most active in years and there are few better places to see them than around Akureyri. The northern lights are visible from September through April but can only be seen on a clear night.
Note: Sightings cannot be guaranteed even if the tour is operated. In case of no northern lights a free second departure is offered for the following evening.
Day 3 | Akureyri, Mývatn, Nature baths, Dimmuborgir

Enjoy the countryside, the relaxing atmosphere of Skjaldarvík or visit Akureyri with its many galleries, shops, cafés, restaurants and fantastic outdoor geothermal swimming pool. During the winter months from December to March you can also go skiing. Explore the fascinating Lake Mývatn area on a day tour with the locals (optional). Visit the mystic Dimmuborgir (Dark Cities), an area full of lava-pillars and formations rich in mystic sagas and tales. Relax in the Nature Baths, a natural geothermal pool located in the middle of a lava field with great views over Lake Mývatn. You can also rent a car and explore the Lake Mývatn area on your own. Transportation to and from Akureyri available.
Day 4 | Fly to Reykjavík
Departure to Akureyri airport at 09.00 for the 9:40 flight back to Reykjavík. In the capital of Iceland you can find excellent restaurants, shops featuring unique Icelandic design, a vibrant cultural scene and exciting nightlife. Accommodation at Icelandair Hotel Reykjavík Natura.
