Day 1: Vikings, Snæfellsnes and lava cave

 ▪ Pick-up at hotel in Reykjavík between 8:30 and 9:00
 ▪ First “hands-on intro” to “your” Defender
 ▪ Taking off northbound, through a tunnel underneath Iceland’s legendary Whalefjord
 ▪ Lunch break and the saga of the Vikings at Settlement Center
 ▪ Lava cave exploring at Borgarhellir, or Vegghellir cave (dep. on snow conditions)
 ▪ Checking in at Guesthouse Langaholt
 ▪ Let the chef surprise us with his unique dinner at Langaholt
 
 
Note:
during the stay at GH Langaholt, if weather conditions are right, step outside in the evening and enjoy the Northern Lights. 

Day 2: Icelandic horse, ice fishing and beach driving

 ▪ Horse training center Hrýsdalur early in the morning with introduction to the
   Icelandic horse (coffee and refreshment)
 ▪ Arrival at farm Hraunholt
 ▪ Picnic lunch
 ▪ Guided to lake Hlíðarvatn for ice fishing
 ▪ Visit to Stakkhamar farm and beach driving
 ▪ Arrival at Guesthouse Langaholt
 ▪ Picture slide show of the day in the lounge
 ▪ Dinner at Langaholt including some local entertainment and evening chat with the owner of the
   guesthouse – tales of the local life and more.

Day 3: Jules Verne, shark and canyon hiking

 ▪ Drive around Snæfellsjökull glacier (Jules Verne; Journey to the centre of the earth)
 ▪ Snow driving to the north side of the peninsula
 ▪ Saga Center at the village of Grundarfjordur
 ▪ Farm Bjarnarhöfn – shark farm and museum (Viking test)
 ▪ Lunch break at Bjarnarhöfn
 ▪ Hiking to one of many canyons of Snæfellsnes peninsula
 ▪ Arrival at Langaholt
 ▪ Final dinner at Langaholt, last chance to enjoy and learn about the local food  
  

Day 4: National Park and Reykjavik

 ▪ Farewell breakfast at Langaholt
 ▪ Lundareykjadalur valley (snow driving)
 ▪ Highland road Kaldidalur
 ▪ National Park Thingvellir (tectonic plates)
 ▪ Geysir hot spring
 ▪ Gullfoss waterfalls
 ▪ Reykjavik late afternoon
 ▪ Drop off at your hotel in Reykjavík
                                                            
 
What to bring?  You will be supplied with all the necessary gear for participating in the winter activities. All you need to bring is warm and comfortable outdoor clothing and your adventure spirit!
 
The fleet /jeeps:  You will be driving the Land Rover Defender modified with 37’ tires, equipped with VHF radio intercommunication and GPS satellite system. All the trips will be lead by an experienced Icelandic group leader in a specially equipped support car.
