Arrival Day | Reykjavík

Reykjavík is a safe, clean, and vibrant city that has great museums, historic attractions, galleries, shops, open-air geothermal swimming pools and much more – so there is something for all to enjoy! While exploring the city, a taste of delicious Icelandic cuisine can be found in a variety of exciting restaurants located all over the city.

Day 1 | The Golden Circle

Pick up your rental car in Reykjavík. Drive the famous Golden Circle full of natural phenomena and historical importance. Spend the day exploring the Golden Circle area which comprises of the beautiful Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir hot spring area and Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Take time to visit Skálholt one of the most important places in Iceland throughout the Middle Ages.

Day 2 | The South Inland

Explore the luscious farmlands of the south, take a short hike, eat at a greenhouse restaurant and visit stunning natural attractions. View Kerið, a 3,000-year-old volcanic crater lake and walk along the hot spring areas around Laugarvatn and Flúðir. Learn everything there is to know about Iceland's volcanic powers at the LAVA Center.

Day 3 | The South Coast

Drive further along the South Coast where you will see picturesque waterfalls, volcanic black sand beaches, and majestic glaciers. Walk the footpath behind the stunning Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, marvel at the powerful Skógafoss Waterfall, and visit the folk museum at Skógar. Head to the charming village of Vík, enjoy walking on the black Reynisfjara beach and admire the majestic Dyrhólaey Cliff.

Day 4 | Reykjavík

Drive back to Reykjavík and spend the day in Iceland's colourful capital. Take a leisurely stroll around this small but lively city, visit one of many interesting and fun museums, take a dip in one of the local swimming pools, and enjoy the delicious food. Experience the vibrant nightlife of this quirky little city.

Alternatively, you can take a longer route back to the city by exploring the Reykjanes Peninsula along the way. Reykjanes Peninsula is a UNESCO Global Geopark which boasts of a diversity of volcanic and geothermal activity, and it is the only place in the world where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge is visible above sea level.
