Experience the Northern Lights in the Icelandic countryside. Winter brings dark nights and shimmering curtains of Aurora Borealis dancing in front of your eyes. Enjoy the warm familiar atmosphere of Brekkulækur farmhouse and the variety of our Icelandic culinary delicacies. Get to know the locals by day, explore amazing natural attractions and hunt for the Northern Lights by night. Itinerary

Day 1 - Thursday | Arrival - Borgarfjörður

Pick up at the airport between 15:0 and 16:30 or 17:00 in Reykjavík BSÍ  Busstation. 

Transfer to the region Borgarfjörður, stay at the wonderful and cosy Hotel Á at Kirkjuból. Tonight, we are looking the first time for the Northern Lights.

Day 2 - Friday | Borgarfjörður - Borgarfjörður - Brekkulækur

After breakfast, we will drive to the northwest of Iceland to our farm and guesthouse Brekkulækur. On the way, we stop to look at some beautiful sights of nature such as the unusual waterfall Hraunfossar, Barnafoss and the hot thermal spring Deildartunguhver. After dinner we are of course watching out for Northern Lights

Day 3 - Saturday | Brekkulækur - Hvammstangi - Hot Pot

Today we will start the day with a visit to the naturally warm outdoor swimming pool in Hvammstangi, a unique spa experience. Afterwards, we enjoy a delicious brunch. In the afternoon, we take a guided walk around the farm to look at our 80 horses, who live on large winter pastures nearby and visit interesting characters in the neighbourhood: occupation farmers with a passion for the arts.

Day 4 - Sunday | Excursion - Vatnsnes Peninsula - Hvítserkur - Seals

It’s excursion day and we drive to the beautiful peninsula Vatnsnes, enjoy the fresh sea breeze, watch out for seals and walk along the beach to the unique basalt formation Hvítserkur. We will have dinner at the farm and we will look out for the wonderful light phenomenon at night again.

Day 5 - Monday | Brekkulækur - Borgarnes - Blue Lagoon - Gunnuhver Hot Spring

Today we will leave the farm Brekkulækur and travel to the south of the island. On the way we visit Borgarnes and the the Settlement Centre, an interesting museum about the early days of Iceland and the Sagas (Exhibition Entrance facultative. We will also stop at the Blue Lagoon and visit the hot thermal area with the geothermal spring Gunnuhver. We spend the night in a Hotel in Keflavík, close to the shore. This evening, we will look out again for Northern Lights. Dinner downtown in Keflavík (facultative).

Day 6 - Tuesday | Departure

Transfer to the airport, farewell to Iceland and flight home.
