Day 1 | Reykjavík – Reykjanes Peninsula

Pick up your rental car upon arrival at Keflavík airport and explore Reykjanes Peninsula on your way to Reykjavík. Explore the Viking World Museum before driving onwards to the mud pools and steam vents collectively called Gunnuhver, the picturesque Stafnesviti lighthouse and Hafnarberg sea lava cliffs. Also worth exploring are Brimketill, a small pool carved naturally by marine erosion, Reykjanesviti lighthouse and the Bridge Between Two Continents.

Day 2 | Discover Reykjavík

Reykjavík is a vibrant city full of history, museums, shops, and restaurants that can easily be explored on foot. The Reykjavík Welcome Card gives you free access to great museums, city, swimming pools in Reykjavík and the ferry to Viðey Island where the Imagine Peace Tower is located. Go whale watching and experience whales, dolphins and puffins in their natural habitat. Don’t forget to take the time to enjoy delicious Icelandic cuisine.

Day 3 | The Golden Circle and South Iceland

South Iceland features some of Iceland most beautiful natural wonders. The area is rich in history and culture with beautiful attractions such as the Golden Circle route which includes the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir hot spring area and Þingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. After a day of exploring, a dip in the Secret Lagoon is a great way to unwind after a long day. For lunch, we recommend a stop at Friðheimar greenhouses and delicious lobster for dinner at Fjöruborðið restaurant in Stokkseyri village if you have time.

Day 4 | Snæfellsnes Peninsula

Discover the wonders of Snæfellsnes Peninsula, known for its stunning landscape and breathtaking beauty. The peninsula includes Ytri Tunga seal colony, Hellnar, an ancient fishing village, and Arnarstapi, where you can stop for refreshments. Make time for the black sand beaches of Djúpalónssandur and Dritvik as well as Lóndrangar sea stacks and Snæfellsnes National Park before enjoying the scenic route towards Kirkjufell, one of Iceland most photographed mountains, and nearby waterfalls Kirkjufellsfoss and Grundarfoss. The charming fishing village of Grundarfjörður is worth a stop as well as Stykkishólmur village if you have time.

Day 5 | Reykjanes Peninsula – departure

Now is the time to explore Reykjanes Peninsula on your way to the airport if you did not have time to do so upon arrival. The Blue Lagoon is also worth visiting but relaxing in the milky blue waters of the lagoon is an experience like nothing else. Please make sure you reserve the admission to the Blue Lagoon in advance.
