Itinerary

Day 1 | Arrival - Reykjavík - Borgarfjörður

Arrival and pick up at the airport in Keflavík between 15:00 and 16:30 or 17:00 in Reykjavík busstation BSÍ.

Transfer to Kirkjuból in the beautiful region of Borgarfjörður, where we will stay in a guesthouse.

Day 2 | Kirkjuból - Hraunfossar - Snæfellsnes

Today, we visit the nature reserve Hraunfossar with its picturesque waterfalls Journey in the direction of the mystic peninsula Snæfellsnes. On the way, we will stop at Europe´s biggest thermal spring, Deildartunguhver.

Visit a well-hidden smuggler cave at the edge of the sea, the picturesque lava field Berserkjahraun and one of the most famous photo opportunities in Iceland mountain Kirkjufell.

Accommodation for two nights in a simple guesthouse in Snæfellsnes.

Day 3 | Snæfellsnes Peninsula - Mt. Kirkjufell

We explore the picturesque Lavacoast between Arnarstapi and Hellnar, where several fascinating stone formations rise from the ocean.

Afterwards, we will visit the beautiful bay of Djúpalónssandur and Drítvík and explore old trade route over the fern-covered lava field Búðarhraun.

Day 4 | Ferry Trip from Stykkishólmur - Flatey - Rauðisandur

Off we go! Today we take the ferry across to the Westfjords over a bay with numerous small islands and cliffs. After the crossing, we continue our journey by our mini bus to unique and impressive beach of Rauðisandur.

Day 5 | Látrabjarg Puffin and Bird Colony

We walk along the enormously steep shore of Látrabjarg, breeding ground to millions of sea birds – among them the colourful and charming puffin (from spring until the beginning of August).

Day 6 | The Westfjords - Arnarfjörður - Dynjandi waterfall

We drive up-hill and cross several mountains until we reach Arnarfjörður where we have the possibility to visit the impressive waterfall Dynjandi.

Day 7 | The Westfjords - Barðaströnd - Brekkulækur

Drive along the coast of Barðaströnd before reaching the interesting Reykhólar village with its geothermal pools. On the way we will do couple of short hikes.

Accommodation at guesthouse Brekkulækur for 2 nights.

Day 8 | Brekkulækur - Peninsula Vatnsnes

Journey by bus and long walk along the sea: seal-colony and bird-cliffs! Later relaxation in a natural hot water swimming pool in village Hvammstangi and return to Brekkulækur.

Day 9 | Kjölur Highland Route - Hveravellir

We drive up and across the highland path Kjölur. Stopover at the famous geothermal area and nature reserve Hveravellir, which was a dwelling for outlaws in the old days. A walk to volcano Strýtur, overnight stay in a mountain hut.

Day 10 | Kerlingafjöll Geothermal area - Gullfoss Waterfall

Today we reach Kerlingafjöll – one of the most striking mountains of the island with colourful rhyolite-peaks, high geothermal area and small disappearing glaciers and explore it. Afterwards we drive southwards and spend the night nearby famous Geysir and waterfall Gullfoss.

Day 11 | The Golden Circle - Reykjavík - Keflvík

After breakfast, we visit the waterfall Gullfoss, the Geysir spring and the historical parliament site at Þingvellir.

Afterwards, we drive back to Reykjavík. Time for shopping and 18.00 pm transfer to a guesthouse in Keflavík

Day 12 | Departure

Transfer to the airport and goodbye to Iceland.
