Day 1 |  Arrival
Arrival at Keflavík International Airport, transfer to Reykjavík and overnight accommodation at a guesthouse in Reykjavík city centre. 

Day 2 & 3 |  Húsafell - Surtshellir
Pick-up at the guesthouse at 14:00. Transfer to Húsafell, a recreation area situated in a wooded lava field close to Hraunfossar waterfalls; approx. 3 hours drive. Geothermal swimming pool with hot tubs close by. Accommodation in a simple, small cottage. Several short excursions in the area, e.g. to Europe’s largest lava-cave, Surtshellir.

Day 4 | Húsafell - Snæfellsnes 
Journey to the mystic Snæfellsnes Peninsula with two nights‘ lodging right under Snæfellsjökull Glacier (supposedly one of the Earth‘s seven energy spots). One of several walks leads to an old smuggler‘s-cave by the sea.

Day 5 |  Arnarstapi
Hike along the lava coast at Arnarstapi fishing village, climbing the old fern-covered lava fields of Búðahraun Crater and down a canyon.

Day 6 |  Arnarstapi - Breiðavík 
Ferry trip across the bay of Breiðafjörður with its numerous small islands and cliffs. After the crossing the journey continues by car followed by a walk along a mountain track down to the natural harbour of Skor. Overnight accommodation in a guesthouse (2x).

Day 7 |  Látrabjarg
A walk along the enormously steep cliffs of Látrabjarg, a breeding ground to millions of seabirds – among them the colourful and charming puffin. Opportunity for a climbing-excursion down the coast.

Day 8 |  Arnarfjörður - Dynjandi
Up-hill drive and crossing of several mountains until Arnarfjörður Fjord with its impressive Dynjandi Waterfall. Dinner and overnight lodging at a guesthouse.

Day 9 |  Barðaströnd - Brekkulækur
Excursion to a remote canyon where plant fossils can be found. Drive along the deserted coast of Barðaströnd. Evening arrival at farmer‘s guesthouse Brekkulækur where you will be treated to a delicious Icelandic dinner.

Day 10 |  Brekkulækur - Vatnsnes
Bus journey followed by a long walk along the sea viewing a seal colony and bird cliffs along the way. Relaxation in a geothermal swimming pool with hot tubs and return to Brekkulækur.

Day 11 |  The highlands
Drive across highland route Kjölur. Stop-over at the geothermal area and nature reservoir Hveravellir which was a dwelling for outlaws in the old days. Walk to volcanic crater Strýtur. Overnight in a mountain hut.

Day 12 |  Kerlingarfjöll
Kerlingarfjöll – a striking mountain range with colourful rhyolith-peaks and small glaciers. Drive southwards and overnight lodging near the Geysir-Gullfoss area. 

Day 13 & 14 |  Gullfoss – Geysir – Þingvellir – Departure 
Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir hot spring area and Þingvellir National Park. Evening arrival in Reykjavík, overnight accommodation at a guesthouse in Reykjavík city centre or transfer to the airport and flight back home (dinner not included but a wide choice of restaurants nearby).

Included:
 - 13/14 days, 12/13 nights. 3/4 nights in in double- or multi-bed rooms. 
 - 9 nights in sleeping-bag accommodation in guesthouses, farmhouses and mountain huts
 - Competent English and German speaking guide.
 - Tour as described. 
 - Entrance fees according to itinerary. 
 - Full board (breakfast, picnic, dinner) starting with breakfast and dinner on day 2 until breakfast on day 13. (In Reykjavik only breakfast, not when early morning flights). 
 - Safety helmets and torches for cave excursions provided. 
 - Hiking (without luggage) for up to 8 hours a day.

 
Not included: 

Travel insurance, short transfers in Reykjavík.

 
Requirements:
Participants should be healthy and in good shape. No further requirements. Please bring your own sleeping bag.
