Long summer weekend

As Icelander's prepare for the long weekend ahead the volcano seems to calming down quite a bit. The volcanic plume has been descending in the past few days, which suggests that the magma flow has reduced considerably (well under 50 tons/sec). It is important to bear in mind, though, that fluctuations in the volcanic activity can still be expected, and intrepit volcanologists should be careful in approaching the volcano and follow all guidelines.
A long weekend at the beginning of summer is only made better with a promise of good weather, and Icelanders all around the country are getting their gardens and neighbourhoods in shape for the green summer ahead. Tourists can go discover the magical world of puppets in the newly opened Arts- and cultural Centre in Borgarnes, enjoy Iceland's various museums, or head out into nature - perhaps even catching a glimpse of the volcano?
